We invite you to build new connections with each other and ourselves through reading and writing together.
During the workshop, we will collectively read female poetry that might be (un)familiar to us. We will look at these texts through a feminist writing prism and explore new meanings in the verses. We may feel women’s strength and resilience in each word and see poetry as a tool for self-preservation and self-representation.
You can bring your favorite poetry pieces, books in Uzbek, tell us about your writing practices, and your memories from school, when you used to read and learn poetry in literature classes. This workshop will become a space for collective healing.
We will write our own texts, poetry, and practice free writing to express our feelings — anxiety, anger, joy, solidarity. We will share our experiences, struggles, and aspirations. We will craft our own narratives and define our identities on our own terms.
