We invite you to our next reading group on Islam, anarchism, and feminism. We will read and discuss texts by Mohamed Abdou, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Svetlana Peshkova, and Saba Mahmood.
Can the subaltern be heard? What does it mean to have political subjectivity? How can we express our agency in the domestic space?
By collectively reading and discussing we will build an interdisciplinary approach on each topic, and question notions of anarchism as anti-religious and Islam as pro-capitalist, and feminism as liberal. In the end of the reading group, we will translate the essay by Svetlana Peshkova into the Uzbek language and continue contributing to knowledge production in Uzbek.
